CYTOTOXIC XANTHONES FROM GARCINIA-HANBURYI

Eleven novel cytotoxic xanthones, gambogin, morellin dimethyl acetal, isomoreollin B, moreollic acid, gambogenic acid, gambogenin, isogambog enin, desoxygambogenin, gambogenin dimethyl acetal, gambogellic acid a nd hanburin were isolated together with four known xanthones, gambogic add, isomorellin, morellic acid and desoxymorellin, from the dry late x of Garcinia hanburyi. The structures were elucidated by a detailed s pectroscopic analysis.
