PAROLE CRITERIA, PAROLE DECISIONS AND THE PRISON POPULATION - EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF THE CRIMINAL-JUSTICE ACT 1991

This article examines the effects that the new criteria for parole, in troduced in 1992, have had on decisions made by the Parole Board and e stimates the impact that changing paroling practice is likely to have on the prison population when the changes introduced by the Criminal J ustice Act 1991 come fully into operation.
