The influence of a radial electric field on spiral wave dynamics is nu
merically investigated using an Oregonator-based model of the Belousov
-Zhabotinsky reaction. The electric field is modeled and used to predi
ct wavefront shape and period of rotation as a function of its strengt
h. The period of rotation was found to increase with electric field st
rength up to a factor of three. No hysteresis effects were found.
