The submitted model describes a counter diffusion of carbon towards to
the interface and of oxygen towards to the volume of metal during lev
itation of drop and does justice to all features of decarburization. T
he results demonstrate the decisive influence of concentration of carb
on and oxygen at the interface on decarburization. Higher value of car
bon content at the interface leads to priority decarburization and the
other way round it leads to oxygen absorption.
