P. Macheiner et N. Gritzmann, ULTRASOUND OF ACUTE ACALCULOUS CHOLECYSTI TIS - DIAGNOSIS AND DIFFERENTIAL-DIAGNOSIS, Zeitschrift fur Gastroenterologie, 34(1), 1996, pp. 21-26
A review of the current literature was performed. Many sonomorphologic
features are described in literature, but none of these is pathognomo
nic for AAC. They also can be found in various nonbiliary disorders. F
or the diagnosis of the acute acalculous cholecystitis it is recommend
ed to combine the findings wall-thickening, hydrops and sludge. The di
fferent sonographic features of the wall-thickening as well as anamnes
tic and clinical datas should be regarded. Computed tomography with i.
v. contrast medium offers the highest sensitivity and specificity, but
these datas should be proofed by further studies.
