Abstract
Experiences in using computer-simulated experiments and response surfa ce methodology to optimize the sampling of fuel peat are reported. Aft er the development of the simulation scheme to assess the quality of t he sampling scheme, the study started with a screening design, evolved through more complicated designs and ended with a model describing th e sampling process. The model is suitable for optimizing the sampling from both the economic and precision aspects.
