R. Bakanas, PROPAGATION OF ACCUMULATION AND DEPLETION WAVES UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF RANDOM CURRENT OSCILLATIONS, Physica status solidi. a, Applied research, 153(1), 1996, pp. 153-164
The propagation of Gunn layers (GL), i.e. accumulation and depletion w
aves, under the influence of random current oscillations, which may be
characterized as a white Gaussian noise, is considered. It is shown t
hat the current oscillations significantly influence the distribution
of the average electric field in the GL wave distorting appreciably th
e shape of the GL wave, while the average velocity of GL is not change
d due to the presence of current deviations. At a sufficiently long ti
me, after the random oscillations have been ''turned on'', the average
GL field is shown to obey the diffusion equation.
