Thermomagnetic properties and the crystallization process of a series
of (Fe0.79Co0.21)(75+x)Si15-1.4xB10+0.4 metallic glasses are studied
for the compositions x = 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10. The samples are studied by
magnetic gravimetry, differential thermal analysis (DTA), and X-ray d
iffraction. The crystalline phases and their crystallization temperatu
res are established for all the compositions. The Curie temperature of
the amorphous phase is obtained by adjusting the experimental points
of the thermomagnetic curve to a theoretical equation. This procedure
seems to be more convenient than the usual way of obtaining the Curie
temperatures by graphical extrapolation of the thermomagnetic curves.
