Abstract
This is a report of a patient with a three week history of a hand infe ction in the area of the head of the third metacarpal of the left hand after travelling to Brazil. Surgical excision revealed an insect larv a, Dermatobia hominis, to be the cause of this infection. Healing occu rred rapidly after removal of the larva.
