Abstract
We report on the spectral investigation of the time-resolved photolumi nescence in insulating YBa2Cu3O6.4 (YBCO) thin films and Bi2Sr2Ca1-zLu zCu2O8 (BSCLCO) single crystals. The characteristic decay times of the photoexcited states in YBCO are two orders of magnitude longer than i n BSCLCO, and have a different dependence upon the emission wavelength . These observations provide insight into the static photoinduced phen omena recently found in YBCO.
