We describe 2 patients with adult Still's disease who developed thromb
otic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and were successfully treated. Alt
hough TTP has been associated with autoimmune diseases, usually with s
ystemic lupus erythematosus or various forms of vasculitis; it has rar
ely been observed in patients with adult Still's disease. This uncommo
n coexistence of 2 clinical entities may indicate similar pathogenetic
mechanisms.
