M. Inanc et al., FEMALE GENITAL-TRACT GIANT-CELL ARTERITIS ASSOCIATED WITH OCCULT TEMPORAL ARTERITIS, Journal of rheumatology, 23(2), 1996, pp. 393-395
Giant cell arteritis (GCA) of the female genital tract has been descri
bed as an incidental finding, but associated temporal arteritis (TA) h
as been rarely reported. We describe a case of female genital tract GC
A associated with occult giant cell TA, which in the absence of crania
l symptoms was confirmed by a random temporal artery biopsy. The patie
nt remains asymptomatic at 12 month followup after treatment with pred
nisolone and azathioprine.
