Hy. Aboulenein et V. Serignese, LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF TAXOL AND RELATED DERIVATIVESUSING A NEW POLYFLUORINATED REVERSED-PHASE COLUMN, Analytica chimica acta, 319(1-2), 1996, pp. 187-190
Taxol (paclitaxel) and 5 of its commonly known derivatives (cephaloman
nine, 7-epi-10-deacetyltaxol, 10-deacetyltaxol, 10-deacetylbaccatin II
I, baccatin III) were separated by a liquid chromatographic method usi
ng a new commercially available polyfluorinated reversed-phase column,
known as Fluofix(R). The assay achieved good resolution with the exce
ption of cephalomannine and 7-epi-10-deacetyltaxol. An injectable form
ulation of taxol was validated using this method. The results were con
sistent and the procedure could be used for quality control or purity
determinations of taxol in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage forms.
