Abstract
Adsorbents with a specific surface area determined by nitrogen adsorbt ion s(sp) = 100 - 236 m(2)/g were prepared on the basis of montmorillo nite and basic salts of iron. Parameters of the porous structure and d oor of the synthesized materials were determined from adsorption and X -ray data. The principal factors affecting the parameters of the porou s structure and the thermal stability of lamellar-columnar adsorbents, synthesized by introducing iron polyhydroxo complexes into montmorill onite clay, are the basicity and the concentration of the modifying so lution of the Fe(III) polyhydroxo complex.
