N. Kimizuka et T. Kunitake, ORGANIC 2-DIMENSIONAL TEMPLATES FOR THE FABRICATION OF INORGANIC NANOSTRUCTURES - ORGANIC-INORGANIC SUPERLATTICES, Advanced materials, 8(1), 1996, pp. 89
The self-organization of inorganic precursors in predetermined pattern
s is the first step towards the ability to synthesize mesoscopic inorg
anic materials. Several techniques are described, including the immobi
lization of inorganic precursors by coordination with bilayer ligands
(see figure), which led, for example, to a novel Cd4Br12S cluster. Fin
ally, the formation of organic/inorganic superlattices is outlined.
