Afd. Loula et al., HIGHER-ORDER GRADIENT POST-PROCESSINGS FOR 2ND-ORDER ELLIPTIC PROBLEMS, Computer methods in applied mechanics and engineering, 128(3-4), 1995, pp. 361-381
Global, element-by-element and macroelement post-processing recovery t
echniques based on least-square residuals of equilibrium equation and
irrotationality condition are proposed for second-order elliptic probl
ems. Improved accuracy for the flux finite element approximations is o
btained with low computational cost and easy implementation. Error est
imates are derived and numerical experiments are reported confirming t
he higher-order rates of convergence predicted in the analysis.
