Abstract
Dislocations and disclinations are classical examples of topological d efects in condensed matter. In this lecture, we will formulate pertine nt questions concerning the dynamics of particles in the presence of t hese topological defects and provide answers to some of them. Some rem arks about related quantum problems will be made, stressing the necess ity of further thorough analysis.
