Abstract
In patients with coronary artery disease, smoking cessation and habitu al exercise are more efficacious risk factor modifications than low-de nsity lipoprotein cholesterol reduction and treatment of hypertension. Since patients have multiple risk factors, it is fortunate that combi ning the treatments of these risk factors enhances the survival benefi t to a greater extent than management of a single risk factor in isola tion.
