By. Jiang et al., SHORTENED DURATION OF POSTISCHEMIC HYPEREMIC BLOOD-FLOW IN THE FOREARM OF PATIENTS WITH HEART-FAILURE, The American journal of cardiology, 77(4), 1996, pp. 300
Doppler ultrasound flow velocities and pulsatility index were measured
in the brachial artery of patients with heart failure before and afte
r 3 minutes of arterial occlusion and compared with matched healthy co
ntrols. Patients with heart failure had a reduced magnitude of postisc
hemic hyperemic flow accompanied by a reduced duration of hyperemic fl
ow.
