In this paper the conduction activation energies of AgI doped glasses
of the system Ag2O-M(2)O(3)-P2O5 (M=Ga,B) are compared to those relati
ve to the corresponding undoped glasses. The composition range studied
is defined by the following molar ratios: 0 less than or equal to AgI
/(P2O5+M(2)O(3))less than or equal to 1, 1 less than or equal to Ag2O/
(P2O5+M(2)O(3))less than or equal to 1 . 4, 0 less than or equal to M(
2)O(3)/P2O5 less than or equal to 0 . 11. It is proposed that, in the
studied composition range, the value of E(sigma) relative to the doped
glasses can be considered as an average value of those relative to un
doped glasses and pure glassy AgI. How to work out the average value a
nd the assumptions necessary are discussed.
