Abstract
Treatment of a dialkyl phosphite with triphenylphosphine and diisoprop yl azodicarboxylate in toluene, followed by addition of an alcohol, re sults in the formation of the corresponding trialkyl phosphite. Simila rly, dialkyl phosphonites can be synthesised from monoalkyl phosphites (alkyl phosphinates).
