Abstract
The synthesis of orthogonally protected lanthionine (Boc, Fmoc; Allyl/ Methyl), suitable for combinatorial and solid phase peptide chemistry is described. Three routes were attempted the most suitable proved to be the Michael addition between Fmoc-(L) under bar-Cys-allyl ester and Boc dehydroalanine-methyl ester.
