Abstract
Adenosine- and uridine-3'-phenylphosphonates have been synthesized and evaluated as substrates of 3'-nucleotidase/nucleases. No other nuclea ses hydrolyzed these compounds. Since V-max values for the adenosine d erivative were comparable to those for 3'-AMP and the apparent K-m wer e 1.4-2.6 mM, it may be a useful substrate.
