new method of preparation of 5'-O-DMT-(N-protected) nucleoside 3'-O-(m
ethanephosphonofluoridates) 2 and their phosphonylating properties tow
ard alcohols, in particular the 5'-hydroxyl groups of nucleosides (or
nucleotides), is presented. Preparation of dinucleoside (3',5')-methan
ephosphonates 3 in solution and solid-phase synthesis of Me-Oligo 6 de
monstrate the potential use of 2 as monomers.
