Abstract
Hemodynamic changes during lower body negative and positive pressure w ere investigated in 42 patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy using left ventricular (LV) inflow and pulmonary venous flow velocities. A goal was to clarify the mechanism of pulmonary congestion due to LV di astolic dysfunction. These flow velocities in patients with hypertroph ic cardiomyopathy and marked elevation of LV end-diastolic pressure in dicate facilitation of pulmonary congestion during increase in preload .
