Theoretical calculations have been carried out in order to extract the
annihilation characteristics of bulk and mono- and divacancies expect
ed in electron-irradiated Ga simple metal. From these theoretical resu
lts it is inferred that the positron signal reported in electron-irrad
iated Ga at 77 K in a previous work is due to divacancies present in t
he metal at 77 K.
