Abstract
The compound -methyl-4-methyl-thio-1H-3a,6-medianoazulen-5-one, C17H27 ClO2S, Was identified as the reaction product when the acid chloride f ormed from a trans-fused perhydroindane derivative underwent a Friedel -Crafts acylation of the internal olefin.
