Abstract
The molecule has an extended conformation with approximate mirror symm etry. 15 of the 16 anti torsion angles are in the range 171.7 (3)-179. 1 (4)-degrees in magnitude, with a mean value of 176.6-degrees. The ma jor deviation from mirror symmetry is the C-C-C-C torsion angle in the tert-butoxycarbonylethyl group, which is nearly coplanar with the nit ro group, having a magnitude of 163.0 (2)-degrees. The C-N bond has a length of 1.555 (3) angstrom.
