Exotic parasites of Diuraphis noxia (Mordvilko) (Homoptera: Aphididae)
were released in Canyon Co. Idaho in 1988. A survey in 1994 indicated
that Aphidius uzbekistanicus Luzhetzki had become established; howeve
r, the parasites were found attacking two other cereal aphids, Sitobio
n avenae (Fabricius) and Schizaphis graminum (Rondani), but not D. nox
ia. The establishment was achieved by releasing wasps into small, shad
ed cages for 2-5 days.
