Strong fluorescent deoxyadenosine derivatives are of considerable rese
arch importance in cell biology. We prepared the deoxyriboside of meth
yl -dihydro-7-oxo-[2,1-i]pyrimidopurine-9-carboxylate (compound 1b, de
oxyribofuranosyl A)(1) which was subsequently used in the synthesis o
f the dimer d(AT).
