APPLICATION OF POLYETHYLENE IN RECONSTRUCTION OTOLOGIC SURGERY - FOILAND POROUS POLYETHYLENE

Low density polyethylene was prepared in the form of foil and porous p late and used as an implant material for otolaryngology. After clinica l testing the foil was introduced into reconstruction surgery of middl e ear. The porous polyethylene is undergoing the clinical testing. It also shows a promising application in reconstruction maxillofacial sur gery. In the course of testing of polyethylene implants no reaction to the implanted foil was observed for any patient.
