Abstract
Making lasting changes to health tare in developing countries is a cha llenge to industrialized nations. This two-part article outlines how a general practice training project was established in Uganda to prepar e postgraduate students to work in rural hospitals. Part 1 lovers the setting, those involved, and the facilities available to launch such a project.
