Abstract
We report the history of 11 patients suffering from TAR-syndrome (Thro bocytopenia and absent radii). 4 cases are reported the first time. 15 orthopedic operations were performed. No intraoperative bleeding comp lications occurred. In one case a bleeding gastric ulcer was operated on after postoperative intensive care treatment. So, the TAR syndrome is no contraindication for operative orthopedic treatment. 10 of 11 pa tients show additional malformations. These malformations had to be op erated in 5 patients to restore the ability to walk. Because of additi onal malformations the radial clubhand could be operated in 3 cases on ly.
