Ai. Vasilenko et al., APPLICATION OF CR-39 PLASTIC AS A DIELECTRIC TRACK DETECTOR UNDER PLANT-CELLS IRRADIATED WITH 10 MEV NUCLEON N-14 IONS/, Nuclear tracks & radiation measurements, 21(3), 1993, pp. 445-448
Dielectric track detectors of CR-39 were applied for assessment of a f
luence and a spatial distribution of the 140 MeV N-14 ion beam produce
d at the isochronous cyclotron U-240 to irradiate root tip meristemati
c cells of Pisum sativum. A sketch of a plant cell irradiation at the
cyclotron, electron micrographs of etched detectors with the surface t
rack densities 1.6 x 10(8) and 3.3 x 10(8) tracks cm-2 as well as the
data on the yield of radiation-induced micronuclei in the plant cells
for the LETs from 1 to 300 keV mum-1 are presented.
