HABITAT TIME-SERIES AND TROUT POPULATION- DYNAMICS

A new tool was used to quantify Continuous Under Threshold Habitat Dur ation Curves (CUT curves) from habitat chronicles, for brown trout (Sa lmo trutta fario, L.). It was tested in two natural streams and in a r egulated site with intermittent peak discharge. It was validated in th e natural streams regarding the limiting habitat of young brown trout of the year (0+). In the regulated station, results suggested that bio logical surveys are necessary to identify accurate limiting habitat.
