M. Chandrasekaran et P. Singh, EFFECT OF PB ADDITIONS ON THE FRICTION AND WEAR OF SINTERED FE-CU-SN-MOS2, International journal of powder metallurgy, 32(1), 1996, pp. 51-58
Using conventional P/M techniques a new iron based antifriction materi
al containing Cu, Sn, Pb and MoS2 has been developed in order to meet
specific working conditions. Samples with Pb additions in the range of
0-12.5w/o have been sintered at 850 degrees C for 20-50min. If was fo
und that samples containing 7.5w/o Pb sintered at 850 degrees C for 30
min exhibited the lowest friction coefficients (0.13, 0.08 and 0.12) a
nd wear rates (0.77 x 10(-9), 2.82 x 10(-9) and 6.18 x 10(-9) mm(3)/m)
at PV values of 0.58, 0.76 and 2.68MPa m/s respectively and a hardnes
s level of 254VHN.
