We have compared the radio continuum properties of Markarian galaxies
at lambdalambda6.3 and 2.8 cm with the integrated far-infrared luminos
ities over the 60 mum and 100 mum IRAS bands and over the 12 mum to 25
mum regime. We find that Markarian galaxies behave like normal star-f
orming galaxies. Comparing L(60,100) with the radio emission, most obj
ects lie in the region of normal star-forming galaxies. Only some Seyf
erts and most of the radio-quiet quasars show a higher radio-to-FIR ra
tio. Comparing L(12,25) with the radio luminosity, the correlation is
surprisingly tight for all objects. In both cases the dispersion of th
e correlation seems to depend on the radio wavelength and is smaller a
t lambda2.8 cm than at lambda6.3 cm.
