The classification criteria for lambda Boo stars are briefly summarize
d and observations of HD 142994 presented, which indicate a variabilit
y with a period of approximately 4 hours and an amplitude of 0.06 mag
in Stromgren b. The significance of detecting pulsating lambda Boo sta
rs is discussed, and the pulsating lambda Boo stars which are known up
to now, or are being suspected to pulsate, are reviewed.
