Abstract
An unusual case of polypoid carcinoma in a 72-year-old woman is report ed. The tumor showed a pedunculated growth on the lateral border of th e tongue and was composed of a malignant basaloid component in intimat e association with definable foci of epithelial dysplasia of the surfa ce mucosa. It was considered that histlogic features of the present ca se corresponded with those of basaloid squamous carcinoma.
