Abstract
The effect of different doses of Co-60 gamma rays on the electrical co nductivity of 100 FEF/SBR samples loaded with different concentrations of sulphur has been studied. It was found that samples containing 1.0 and 1.5 phr of sulphur show a remarkable increase in their electrical conductivity upon irradiation while those that contained 0.5 and 5 ph r of sulphur have anomalous behaviour in electrical conductivity gamma -dose dependence. The degradation by irradiation takes place for sampl es containing 0.5 and 5 phr of sulphur at around 8 and 30 kGray, respe ctively. The variation of the conduction mechanisms through these comp osites upon irradiation was also discussed.
