We have studied the room-temperature lattice dynamics in a series of I
-2-doped poly [2-buthoxy-5-methoxy phenylenevinylene] (PBMPV) conducti
ng polymers by means of 30-MHz H-1 NMR. The nuclear spin-lattice relax
ation time showed an overall tendency to decrease with increasing DC e
lectrical conductivity. In addition, two time constants were necessary
to describe the spin-lattice relaxation in the intermediate conductiv
ity range.
