Abstract
The cyclenphosphine sulfide is prepared by reaction of molecular sulfu r on cyclenphosphorane, obtained by transaminating hexamethylphosphoro us triamide with 1,4,7,10-tctraazacyclododecane (cyclen). The fluxiona l behaviour of this compound is characterized by NMR C-13 and P-31 spe ctroscopy. Treatment of the titled compound by n-BuLi, followed by rea ction with various electrophiles lends to either N- or S- alkylation a ccording to the nature of the reactant.
