Abstract
This paper discusses the complex manner in which the spatial frequency and contrast of a hexagonal raster present in a fiber image affect th e resolving power of an observer's eye. The range of the most unfavora ble spatial frequencies of the macrostructure is determined, and its p ractically attainable contrast level is established. (C) 1996 The Opti cal Society of America.
