Abstract
We investigate the transition from a mono-scroll to a double-scroll at tractor observed in the chaotic dynamics of an electronic oscillator. The description in terms of an attractor merging crisis turns out to b e successful. The finding is supported by the topological structure of the attractor and the scaling behavior of the mean residence time.
