Abstract
We calculate the fine and hyperfine splitting of the energy levels of antiprotonic helium, (p) over bar He+, in states with orbital momentum 30 less than or equal to l less than or equal to 40, demonstrate that the spin effects can be neglected in the interpretation of most of th e experimentally observed E1 transitions and point out the possibility of measuring the fine splitting by stimulating suppressed transitions .
