Abstract
Alloys nominally of up to 25 at.% ruthenium were manufactured, investi gated using optical and scanning electron microscopy, and analysed by EDS, electron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The results indicate d that there is a peritectic cascade involving the phases Al3Ru2, Al2R u, Al13Ru4, and Al6Ru, ending with a eutectic reaction between Al6Ru a nd Al(Ru). No Al12Ru was observed.
