Abstract
Ethnic serials publishing in Canada was first set into motion by Germa n immigrants in the second half of the eighteenth century. Immigrants from the rest of Europe and the United States followed suit at a much later date, The end of the nineteenth century marked the beginning of a new era in Canada's ethnic publishing, An upsurge of immigrants from Europe and Asia created a plethora of newspapers and periodicals in a variety of languages serving their particular needs, A great number o f these publications were significantly influenced by the political sc ene in their respective homelands.
