Am. Simon et al., ASSESSMENT OF DIFFUSION COUPLING EFFECTS IN MEMBRANE SEPARATION .1. NETWORK THERMODYNAMICS MODELING, Journal of membrane science, 109(2), 1996, pp. 231-246
Network thermodynamics and bond graph theory have been used in modelli
ng of coupled diffusion in a mixture of two components permeating thro
ugh a membrane. The possibility of evaluating the degree of coupling f
rom the steady-state measurements has been shown, as well as the influ
ence of coupling on separation properties of the system. The results m
ay be utilized to properly set up separation experiments in order to a
chieve the maximum possible separation in an experimental system.
