Abstract
Reimplantation of frozen autogenous lesioned mandible was performed in 31 patients with mandibular bone cysts and tumours, 26 reimplanted gr afts survived without complications following surgery. Two cases had p ostoperative infections which were resolved following appropriate anti biotic treatment. Three grafts were removed due to the severe infectio n and wound dehiscence. The follow-up from 6 months to 4 years showed that there was no recurrence of the primary lesion in the 28 successfu l cases. Satisfactory facial contour after surgery was achieved in 19 patients, while other patients showed relatively mild facial disfigure ment. The inferior alveolar nerve was repaired in 4 cases and a functi onal evaluation was made using an acupuncture pressure tester.
