Abstract
One known (1) and four new dihydro-beta-agarofuran sesquiterpenes (2-5 ) were isolated from Maytenus magellanica. Their structures were eluci dated by means of H-1- and C-13-nmr spectroscopic studies, including H -1-C-13 heteronuclear correlation (HETCOR), long range correlation spe ctra with inverse detection (HMBC), and ROESY experiments. Their absol ute configurations were determined by application of the ed exciton ch irality method.
